What Does Commercial Roofing Involve?

When getting into roofing, there are a lot of things to think about. When getting into residential roofing, it’s fairly straightforward. The roofs are all similar, usually pitched at the middle and using shingle roofing, but what’s the difference between this type of roofing and commercial roofing? Roofing companies that offer a commercial roofing service get into a whole new world of roofing where different materials are needed and different skill sets are required. Instead of working on a pitched roof, you will more than likely be working on a flat roof for a commercial building.

this is the type of roof that doesn’t use gutters and utilizes outlets and drains to get rid of the water. The biggest problem with a roof like this is making sure that there is a pitch to that drainage. Once that pitch is there though, you need to seal the roof entirely to make sure water doesn’t go where you don’t want it to. Also, you need to seal it to protect the roof from the rays of the sun. Heat damage can affect the infrastructure of the building which is why it’s so important to make sure the roofing company you hire knows exactly what they’re doing.
